Changes to our life
For the past two years Dylan has attended the St. Joseph School District's Enright Center. Now with the new baby coming and Jennifer going to stay home, Dylan had his last day there today. It was a hard day for his caregivers. It has meant a lot to my family to have the love and stability that Amanda, Marilyn, Anita, Teresa, and Stephanie have provided. Here is the link to view some of the pictures from his last day.

About the color
Alright, I chose the color pink because we are having a girl. It is not because I am in touch with my feminine side.

Annoucement
I am going to try to add a video of how we made our annoucement. For a little back ground we had our original sonogram in early December. Jennifer thought it would be a good idea to have the sonographer write on a notecard with crayon and put it in an envelope so we could not see what variety of baby we were having. On Christmas Day after we had breakfast Dylan opened the envelope and announced G-I-R-L. Ths file should not be attempted by those with dial up modems! Just click the picture to play.
More on the original diagnosis
While I was going through our paperwork for Children's Mercy I came across this paper that the doctors had drawn for us. The shaded portion at the bottom was the illustration of what Heartland saw was developmentally wrong about the heart. Also if we had to choose between the left or the right ventricle, it is better to have chosen the right. So we were very fortunate it that aspect.

May 1st is the tentative date to be induced
May 1st will be the day that Jennifer will be induced if she doesn't start having contraction before then. Within an hour after having the baby the doctors will evaluate our little girl to determine the exact course of action to take. They said in about four to six hours the baby will most likely be transferred from St. Lukes to Childens Mercy. Since we are out of towners they have arrange for us to be placed on the Ronald McDonald House stay list. We watched a video on the place and it seems awesome. This coming Monday Jennifer will be going back to St. Lukes for a check up with Dr. Lu. My mom, Kathy, has been driving her down while I am in Jeff City. Normally Jennifer's mom, Debbie, has been meeting up with her at the hospital. We are fortunate to have them there with us.
Getting no sympathy around here!
If anyone knows Bob very well they know that he presses on even in the most stressful times and can do it with the most unrelenting positive attitude. Below is a picture of my boys as I was telling them how my legs were hurting and my belly was itchin'. I tell you I am getting no sympathy around here!

Visit with the Neonatal Unit staff.
Monday at the doctors visit we found out that baby girl was breached and the nurse went out to tell Dr. Lu in the hall and our door hadn't shut yet and he was concerned. So of course I was scared because of all the possibilities that could happen trying to get the baby turned plus he said it wasn't going to be the most pleasant for me to experience. He didn't have time to try to get her turned that day so he scheduled us for Wed. in hopes that she may turn back on her own and sure enough sometime during the night she turned.
We also got to have another cool sonogram done with more pictures of her and got to meet with the nurse practicing Johnna part of the neonatal unit who made me feel that baby girl is going to be well taken care of when she first enters into the world. So I am getting very excited and am going to sleep well tonight!
By the way this is my very first Blog posting!

Our Cardiologist

Dr. Gary Lofland has consulted with us and provided us with a detailed explanation of what to expect. More can be read about his history at the link below.

One more item of concern
I forgot to add that Jennifer was also diagnosed with Strep B. This means that before the delivery she will be placed on an antibiotic so the baby doesn't contract it.
